Why is it?
The soles of the feet have more sweat glands. Apart from that, many people have hyperhidrosis problems. Hereditary causes or hormonal changes can also cause excessive sweating.
Various bacteria are also responsible for foot odor. For example, a bacteria called Ketococcus sedentarius produces sulfuric compounds in sweat. This can cause a smell like rotten eggs.
Synthetic socks increase odor. Because they do not allow air to circulate. They are also ineffective in absorbing sweat. Wearing synthetic leather shoes increases the risk of odor.
Rules to follow
- Try to keep your feet, shoes, and socks dry. This will reduce bacterial and fungal infections.
- Clean your feet with alcohol wipes. Avoid synthetic and plastic shoes. Avoid synthetic yarn socks as well.
- Before going to bed at night, soak your feet in warm water mixed with a little honey and rose water for a while. This will improve blood circulation in your feet and get rid of bacteria.
- You can soak your feet in warm water mixed with Epsom salt for 20 minutes.
- Put a little baking soda in your shoes. The next day, wipe the area thoroughly and wear the shoes. However, baking soda cannot be used on leather shoes.
- Sprinkle a little salt on your shoes and sneakers from time to time. Soak a piece of cloth or cotton in clove oil and place it inside your shoes.
- Put a tea bag in boiling water for two minutes. When the tea bag cools, place it inside your shoes. After an hour, remove the tea bag and wipe the inside of the shoes thoroughly. There will be no smell.
