My BMI (Body Mass Index) is 15.5, weight 51 kg. Is it healthy to take protein shakes to gain weight? If so, can you suggest some good protein shakes?
Advice: Your BMI (a mathematical method for determining a person's ideal weight) should be at least 18.5. However, it is not right to rely only on protein shakes to gain weight. It can damage your liver and kidneys. In this case, you can consume high-calorie foods. For example, you can eat milkshakes with nuts, dates, bananas and butter. Oat shakes, rice starch, ghee, milk, eggs, olive oil, potatoes, pantabhata, paneer, dry fruits, halwa—keep these foods in your daily diet.
However, before starting the process of gaining weight, it is better to check your blood sugar, lipid profile and creatinine. After doing these tests, you can prepare a diet plan with the help of an expert nutritionist. I hope you find it useful.
